On the last day of the first session of the Budget Session in the Assembly, BJP legislators created a massive uproar and staged a walkout while chanting slogans against the government. Led by Chief Whip Shankar Ghosh, BJP MLAs alleged that the law and order situation in West Bengal has completely collapsed. They also demanded that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee publicly apologize for referring to the Maha Kumbh as "Mrityu Kumbh" (Death Kumbh).
Additionally, BJP legislators protested against a Trinamool MLA's demand for a separate flag for Bengal. Outside the Assembly gate, Shankar Ghosh and BJP MLAs carried banners and posters while raising slogans against the government.
