BJP ramps up campaign for phase two, banks on Yogi Adityanath’s aggressive outreach

The political intensity of the West Bengal Assembly elections is set to escalate further as the Bharatiya Janata Party prepares an aggressive campaign strategy for the second phase of voting on April 29. Central to this plan is the expanded role of Yogi Adityanath, whose campaign presence is expected to significantly increase compared to the first phase. Party strategists are focusing on deploying him in constituencies where contests are tight and politically crucial.

According to internal planning, Yogi Adityanath will lead multiple rallies and roadshows, particularly in densely populated and strategically sensitive regions. These include areas where electoral battles are closely fought and where the party aims to consolidate its position. His campaign is expected to emphasise strong messaging on law and order, governance, and security, aligning with the party’s broader electoral narrative.

The move is being linked to the BJP’s larger electoral target, often described within party circles as “Mission 140+,” given that over 140 seats will go to polls in this phase.
