Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
A unique form of protest was witnessed in Laketown’s Bangur area near VIP Road on Sunday morning, as BJP workers took to the streets over the deteriorating condition of the roads. The protest was staged not just with slogans, but with symbolism that caught the public eye.
BJP supporters, holding placards and makeshift props, stood in knee-deep potholes and mockingly tried to plant seeds in them—highlighting the severity of the damage and accusing the civic authorities of ignoring their repeated pleas. Residents too joined in, echoing concerns over accidents and daily inconvenience.
The protesters demanded immediate repair of the dilapidated stretch, pointing out that waterlogging and unchecked neglect have turned the road into a hazard, especially during the rainy season.
They warned that if the issue is not addressed soon, larger demonstrations will be held across the area. No response has yet been received from the civic administration.
