BJP workers clash in Ashoknagar over women’s wing formation; Multiple injuries reported

A violent clash broke out during a BJP organisational meeting in the Maniktala area of Ashoknagar, North 24 Parganas, on Sunday night. The meeting was being held in the presence of BJP district president Rajiv Poddar when tensions escalated over the formation of the party’s women’s wing. Disagreements between factions quickly turned into a physical altercation, resulting in chairs being broken and several workers sustaining injuries.

One BJP worker was reportedly seriously injured in the clash. Following the incident, local police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Both groups involved have lodged complaints at the police station. No official confirmation has been given regarding arrests or further action.

The BJP leadership has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident. Meanwhile, the local MLA has raised concerns over the internal dispute during the meeting. The event was part of regular organisational activities and was meant to discuss upcoming structural plans, including the women’s wing.
