In a significant development ahead of the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its first list of candidates. The list was officially finalized during a meeting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) on October 1, presided over by BJP President JP Nadda. Prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister JP Nadda, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were in attendance at the meeting.
The BJP's candidate roster for the Rajasthan elections includes seven Members of Parliament (MPs) as nominees. Among them, Rajyavardhan Rathore, who currently represents Jhotwara, and Diya Kumari, an MP from Vidhyadhar Nagar, have been nominated. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore expressed his gratitude, stating, 'I am thankful that the BJP workers and PM Modi believed that I will be able to replicate the kind of work that I did as an MP, in Vidhan Sabha. A major change is required in Rajasthan.'
Additionally, other candidates in the list include Baba Balaknath, who will contest from Tijara, and Kirodi Lal Meena, who is set to run in Sawai Madhopur. The announcement of these candidates underscores the BJP's strategic approach as it prepares for the Rajasthan assembly elections.
