The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensified its criticism against the Mamata Banerjee-led government, addressing concerns over the atrocities against women in Sandeshkhali. During a press conference held at the BJP headquarters on Wednesday, Gaurav Bhatia asserted, "Women are unsafe in West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee is responsible for whatever is happening to the women of Sandeshkhali." Bhatia questioned the state government's inaction, highlighting the contrasting efforts of the Central Government in providing security and empowerment to women.
Amidst mounting scrutiny, Bhatia posed pointed questions to Mamata Banerjee, stating, "Why does she hate Hindus so much? Why is there so much hatred towards tribal society? TMC goons are exploiting women and why are you silent?" The BJP's stance underscores growing tensions between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the opposition BJP, as Sandeshkhali becomes a focal point in the political discourse surrounding women's safety in West Bengal.
