NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
A major fire broke out in a sand mill oil tanker at the Texmaco Belgharia Division, triggering panic inside the factory premises. The flames quickly spread from the tanker to a nearby car shed and further to a fiber shed constructed above a newly built shed. Prompt action by workers and the fire brigade prevented the situation from escalating into a larger disaster.
Workers immediately attempted to contain the blaze while three fire brigade engines rushed to the spot. It took nearly an hour for the fire to be brought under control. All workers inside the factory were safely evacuated, and the main factory gate was shut as a precautionary measure to ensure safety and restrict movement.
As an added safety step, electricity supply across the Texmaco area was disconnected to prevent any further risk. Power to the Texmaco office, residential quarters and officers’ quarters was temporarily cut off. No injuries were reported in the incident, and the factory was largely saved from extensive damage. However, operations at the facility have been temporarily suspended.
