No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
The city of Kolkata was shaken by a grim discovery at dusk on Saturday when the blood-soaked body of a young man was found on platform number 2 of Princep Ghat station. The body, first spotted by railway police, prompted a swift response from the Kolkata Police, leading to a massive commotion in the area. The incident has cast a shadow over the popular riverside spot, which is typically a bustling hub, and a murder investigation has now been launched to determine the circumstances of the brutal death.
Upon being found, the individual was initially unresponsive. After some time, authorities realized that the body was lifeless. A subsequent examination of the scene revealed a large pool of blood on the platform near the body, indicating a violent and fatal attack. The police found a watch and a pair of scissors on the deceased, but no one was present at the scene, suggesting the person was murdered elsewhere or the killer fled immediately after the crime.
While the identity of the victim remains unknown, police have strong suspicions that the person was murdered. The presence of significant blood and what appears to be a wound from a sharp weapon on the body points towards a deliberate act of violence. However, as of now, the police have not been able to find any concrete clues as to who the perpetrator might be or what the motive was.
A police officer at the scene stated, "We came to the station after receiving the information and saw the body lying here. An investigation is underway to find out how this incident happened." The authorities are now turning their attention to technology for answers. The CCTV footage from the cameras around the station will be meticulously reviewed in the hopes of identifying the victim, catching a glimpse of the suspect, or piecing together the events that led to the murder.
The body has been recovered and sent for a post-mortem examination. The autopsy report will be crucial for the police investigation, as it is expected to provide definitive information on the cause of death, the nature of the wounds, and the time of death.
