The blood-soaked body of a young man was found early in the morning near Garifa station on the Naihati–Bandel railway line, creating tension in the area. Local residents spotted the body lying face down near the up line and immediately informed the authorities.
Soon after receiving the information, personnel from the Bandel Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot and recovered the body. Police began preliminary investigations at the scene while locals gathered around the railway track where the incident occurred.
According to locals, a mobile phone and a driver’s license were found near the deceased, which helped in identifying him as Ganesh Prasad Yadav. His father’s name has been reported as Sitaram Prasad Yadav. At the time of the incident, the young man was reportedly wearing blue jeans and a white shirt.
Police have not yet confirmed the exact cause of death. It remains unclear whether the young man died after being hit by a train in an accident or if it was a case of suicide. Authorities have started an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
