Body found in furniture shop in Kanpur's Ghatampur area

Unidentified miscreants allegedly beat a carpenter to death at a furniture workshop in Ghatampur area on Sunday evening. Nasirullah, a native of Charbagh Lucknow, worked in a furniture shop in Ghatampur area of ​​the district with his friend Khalid. After work, he slept in the furniture workshop with Khalid.

According to the police, Nasirullah returned to Kanpur from Lucknow along with Khalid on Saturday. "On Monday morning, his employer Raju Thakur informed the police that Nasirullah was lying in a pool of blood in the furniture workshop," the police further said.

During the preliminary investigation, the police found Nasirullah dead with deep injuries on his head and face. Co-worker Khalid was found to be missing from the workshop. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case of murder and launched a search to find out the whereabouts of Khalid.

DCP South Salman Taj Patil said the police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in nearby shops. Several suspects have been detained and are being questioned. "At the same time, the police informed the family members of the deceased about the incident," the DCP further stated.
