A 32-year-old man, Bikash Das, was found dead in a mango orchard in Chowki village, Farakka, on Sunday night. According to family sources, Bikash had left home after lunch and did not return. His body was discovered by local residents around 9:00 p.m. in the orchard, and the Farakka police were immediately notified.
The police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and transported it to Farakka Benia Village Health Center. The attending doctor confirmed that Bikash was dead when he arrived at the health center. On Monday morning, the body was sent for postmortem at Jangipur Hospital to determine the cause of death.
Farakka police have launched an investigation into the incident and are looking into whether it was a case of suicide or foul play. Authorities are speaking with locals and examining all available evidence as part of their inquiry into this unexpected death.
