The body of a missing youth was recovered from Muchhbandh pond in Andal on Monday morning, bringing an end to an overnight search by family members and locals. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Rabi Ghosh, who had been missing since Sunday afternoon. His body was spotted floating in the pond early in the morning, prompting residents to alert the police.
Upon receiving the information, Andal police reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident. The body was recovered and necessary procedures were initiated as authorities attempted to determine the exact circumstances leading to the death.
According to local accounts, Rabi Ghosh was frequently under the influence of alcohol. On Sunday afternoon, he had reportedly entered the pond to bathe while intoxicated and is believed to have drowned after moving into deeper water. Despite extensive searches by his family and locals throughout the evening, he could not be located. At around 5 a.m. on Monday, residents arriving at the pond noticed the body floating and informed the authorities.
