Bollywood Actress Chrisann Pereira returns to Mumbai after release from Sharjah Jail in Drug Case

Actress Chrisann Pereira, known for her role in the Bollywood film 'Sadak 2,' has returned to Mumbai after being released by authorities in Sharjah in connection with a drug case, Pereira was detained at Sharjah airport on April 1 when drugs were found in a memento she was asked to deliver to someone in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The actor spent nearly a month in jail in Sharjah until it was revealed during the investigation that she had been impersonated by others. The Mumbai crime branch later arrested the impersonators. Following a thorough investigation, Sharjah authorities released Chrisann Pereira, but she faced legal formalities that delayed her return to India. However, after completing the necessary procedures, the UAE authorities allowed her to return to Mumbai.

Upon her arrival, Chrisann Pereira is expected to meet with Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar and other senior police officials to discuss the case. Her release from the UAE came after Mumbai police provided documents related to the case to the authorities in Sharjah.

During her detention in the UAE, Pereira faced an additional ordeal when two of the accused individuals, Anthony Paul and his friend Rajesh alias Ravi Bobhate, allegedly demanded Rs 80 lakh from her mother in exchange for securing her release.

In June, the Mumbai police pressed charges against Paul, Bobhate, and another person for their involvement in impersonating Chrisann Pereira in the drug case.

The case has drawn significant attention and highlights the need for vigilance in combating drug-related offenses in the entertainment industry. Authorities in both India and the UAE are taking strict measures to address such incidents and ensure the safety and integrity of the industry.
