BJP defeats AAP in Delhi, ends 27-year reign: Key reasons behind AAP's defeat
Kolkata Police have launched an investigation after receiving threatening emails on Tuesday claiming that timer-operated bombs were planted at a state-run hospital and a prime university in the state capital.
The threatening emails were sent to various educational institutions, including S.S.K.M. Medical College & Hospital in South Kolkata and Rabindra Bharati University in the northern outskirts of the city. The emails stated that the hospital would be blown up by Tuesday morning.
A city police official reported that a private university in Kolkata also received a similar bomb-scare email. Upon receiving the information, police, including personnel from the bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs, immediately responded to the locations mentioned in the threats.
"Nothing suspicious has been detected, and we suspect that these emails were hoaxes," said a city police spokesperson. However, the cybercrime division of the Kolkata Police has begun tracing the email addresses to identify and locate the sender.
