No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
A bomb scare at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport Terminal 3 triggered an extensive security check on Wednesday after a threat email was received on IndiGo’s grievance portal. The email allegedly mentioned multiple airports, including Delhi, Chennai, and Goa, prompting heightened alert across these locations.
The Delhi Police said the fire brigade received a call around 4 p.m. regarding a possible bomb at Terminal 3. Teams from the National Security Guard (NSG), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Delhi Police quickly reached the spot and began a thorough inspection of the terminal premises.
Following investigations, authorities confirmed that no suspicious object was found and the threat was declared a hoax. However, precautionary measures were stepped up at other airports mentioned in the email.
Separately, an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Varanasi also received a similar bomb threat. The airline stated that a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was immediately activated as per protocol. The flight landed safely, and all passengers were safely disembarked while security checks were conducted before the aircraft’s clearance for operations.
