A bomb threat email received by the Deputy Director of Swasthya Bhawan on Monday led to an emergency response by Bidhannagar Electronics Complex Police and the bomb disposal squad. The email stated that a bomb had been planted inside the building. Following this, police personnel reached the site with sniffer dogs and began a thorough search operation. Vehicles parked outside the health department headquarters were inspected, and the premises were secured during the investigation.
According to officials, the email was directly addressed to the Deputy Director of Swasthya Bhawan. Police are currently working to trace the origin of the email and identify the sender. A technical team has been deployed for digital forensics. No explosive device had been found at the time of reporting, but the search and verification process is ongoing.
