Aroop asks bank to freeze 534 crores, Ritabrata-bloc counters; Which TMC has control over reserves?
The Delhi High Court was placed on high alert and evacuated on Friday following a bomb threat received via email. The threat, which claimed three bombs had been planted on the premises, prompted an immediate and comprehensive response from law enforcement. As a precautionary measure, judges, lawyers, and staff were swiftly cleared from the complex, with a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad cordoning off the area to conduct a thorough search.
According to police sources, the threatening email was sent from an account with the name "Kanimozhi Thevidiya" and demanded that the court be evacuated by 2 pm. The message was filled with a mix of political claims and bizarre conspiracy theories. It alleged that "secular parties" depend on "family dynasty politics and corruption" to oppose the BJP/RSS, and that a blast would be a sample to "clear the doubt of previous bluffs."
The email's chaotic narrative delved into specific political figures, claiming that “heirs” like Rahul Gandhi and Udhayanidhi Stalin were bottlenecks to a new form of "secular" leadership. The message went on to bizarrely propose that a "Dr. Ezhilan Naganathan" should take over the DMK party to usher in this change. It ominously warned that the blast would occur in the "Judge Chamber shortly after Mid-day Islamic Prayers."
The threat also contained a reference to a past incident, claiming that a "Dr. Shah Faesal" had collaborated with Pakistan's ISI cells in Coimbatore to "recreate the 2013 Patna blasts." Additionally, the email included a direct threat of an acid attack against Inbanidhi Udhayanidhi, the son of a Tamil Nadu minister. It even claimed to have "assets within the Police" and provided a contact name and phone number for supposed defusing codes.
The incident is the latest in a series of similar hoax threats that have recently targeted various institutions across the National Capital Region. In recent months, multiple schools, colleges, and even government offices have received similar emails, causing significant panic and disruption. The police are treating the incident with utmost seriousness while working to investigate the origin of the email and the identity of the sender.
