The company issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), stating that it will provide a complete refund to ticket holders within 7-10 days.

Earlier in the day, the hashtag #UninstallBookMyShow trended on X, with some users labeling Shubhneet Singh as a 'Khalistani' and a supporter of separatist leaders.
This incident follows a diplomatic dispute between India and Canada, which resulted in the expulsion of senior diplomats from both countries. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged that New Delhi was involved in the killing of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia in June of this year. India swiftly rejected Canada's claims as absurd.
Shubhneet Singh, known as Shubh, is an emerging Punjabi rapper who gained fame for his song 'Still Rollin,' which garnered a significant number of streams on Instagram reels. His breakout single 'We Rollin' was released in 2021 and has amassed over 201 million views on YouTube as of 2023. Shubh recently released his debut album 'Still Rollin' and had announced his first-ever India tour, covering 10 different cities and a cruise this year, with BookMyShow as a sponsor.
