A boy and a girl were crushed to death by a goods train near Chichaki railway station between Dhanbad and Gaya railway section under Dhanbad Rail Division of East Central Railway (ECR) zone on Monday morning.
GRP station manager B Das at Gomoh railway station told the media that the bodies of a boy and a girl were found on the platform of the Grand Chord line around 6am on Monday. The heads of the two deceased, aged between 20 and 26, were separated from their bodies in the incident.
"Prima facie it appeared to be a suicide as both were reportedly crushed by a freight train. The bodies were not identified until late afternoon." Investigation into the incident is ongoing, but it is believed that they were a loving couple and committed suicide near Chichaki station. No people from nearby villages could identify them,” said railway station B das GRO Gomoh.
The GRP eventually sent the body to Dhanbad for post-mortem.
