Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally in Kanpur on Friday, praised the Indian armed forces and the indigenous BrahMos missile system for their role in Operation Sindoor. He said the operation destroyed terrorist bases deep inside Pakistan and left the enemy rattled.
Highlighting India’s assertive policy on national security, PM Modi declared that India would strike back at terrorism on its own terms — whenever and however it chooses. He warned those backing terrorism not to mistake India’s restraint for weakness, and issued a strong message: “Operation Sindoor is not over yet.”
Giving a local flavour to his speech, the Prime Minister remarked, “Agar main seedhe seedha Kanpuriya mein kahun, dushman kahin bhi ho, haunk diya jayega.” He added that weapons like BrahMos — which gave sleepless nights to Pakistan — are now being produced in Uttar Pradesh, marking a major milestone in India’s ‘Make in India’ defence push.
He also emphasized the region’s growing role in defence manufacturing. “Earlier, this region saw its traditional industries vanish. Today, Amethi is manufacturing AK-203 rifles, and BrahMos production has a new address in Uttar Pradesh,” he said, linking local pride with national security achievements.
