British IPL broadcast engineer found dead in Mumbai hotel, police rule out foul play

A British broadcast engineer working on IPL coverage was found dead in a hotel room in Mumbai, prompting an investigation by police. The deceased, identified as Ian William Langford, had been staying at a hotel since March 24 while covering matches.

According to officials, Langford returned to his room after a match but did not respond to calls the following morning. Hotel staff entered the room using a master key and found him lying on the floor. An in-house doctor was called and declared him dead at the scene.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings have not indicated any signs of foul play, though the exact cause of death is yet to be determined.

The body has been sent for further examination, and authorities are continuing to examine all aspects surrounding the incident.
