Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated sharply on Saturday, just hours after both sides reportedly agreed to a ceasefire. BSF Sub-Inspector Md Imteyaz was martyred in cross-border firing in the RS Pura sector of Jammu district. He was leading a Border Out Post when Pakistani forces opened fire along the International Boundary.
“We salute the supreme sacrifice made by BSF Braveheart Sub Inspector Md Imteyaz in service of the nation,” BSF Jammu posted on X. The force confirmed that a wreath-laying ceremony with full military honours will take place at the Frontier Headquarters in Jammu’s Paloura on Sunday. BSF Director General and all ranks extended their deepest condolences to the martyr's family.
