Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
In a lightning-fast operation, BSF troops from Aizawl sector, along with Mizoram Excise and Narcotics officials, stopped two men on scooters and seized a massive quantity of dangerous drugs on National Highway-6 between Seling and Aizawl's Tuirial. Acting on exact information, the team blocked the road at the right moment and caught the suspects red-handed. When questioned, the duo quickly admitted they had hidden the drugs in bushes nearby, leading officers straight to two plastic bags filled with narcotics.
Inside the bags were 15 packets of high-quality methamphetamine (dragon brand) weighing 14.905 kgs and 49 soap cases packed with 707 grams of heroin. The total street value of the seized drugs is believed to run into several crores. Both riders were immediately arrested, and the entire consignment was handed over to the Excise and Narcotics department for legal action.
This major bust has once again proved how alert our border forces are in stopping drugs from entering the country through the north-east. Local people have welcomed the seizure and say such strong actions give hope that the deadly drug network in the North-East India region can be broken. Officers say the operation will now help them dig deeper and catch the bigger players behind this smuggling chain.
