Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
A 67-year-old man, identified as Sanjay Mitra, was crushed to death after a weak boundary wall of his residential building suddenly collapsed on him late Thursday night. Mitra was a retired central government employee. The unfortunate incident occurred on Dr. S. C. Banerjee Road in the Beleghata area.
The victim, who resided in the area with his wife (his only daughter is working in another state), was standing near the apartment's boundary wall when it abruptly gave way and fell, trapping him beneath the debris of bricks and rubble. The loud crash alerted family members and local residents, who immediately rushed to the scene to begin rescue efforts.
The elderly man was quickly pulled out from under the collapsed wall and was rushed to the nearby Apollo Hospital. However, upon examination, doctors pronounced Mitra dead, confirming that he had passed away before reaching the medical facility due to the severity of his injuries.
