No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
A major theft incident was reported at the Rajarhat BLO office near Rajarhat Chowmatha after unidentified miscreants broke into the premises late at night. The intruders allegedly entered by breaking the asbestos roofing of an upper room and went on to vandalise cupboards and drawers, damaging several important documents.
According to available information, the thieves ransacked the office interior, breaking open storage units and scattering files. Several drawers were found damaged when the incident came to light in the morning, raising concerns over the safety of official records kept inside the office.
Rajarhat Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and began an investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being examined, and raids are being conducted at multiple locations. It is yet to be confirmed whether any documents were stolen, and the probe is ongoing.
