Business leaders expressed their deep condolences over the passing of former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Thursday, acknowledging his significant contributions to the state's industrial development.
RPSG Group Chairman Sanjiv Goenka paid tribute to Bhattacharjee, stating, "Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was a person whom I deeply respected. He had a very human side and a unique way of motivating. Bengal has lost a great leader."
N G Khaitan, President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the loss to the state, remarking, "The demise of Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's unique and soft-spoken personality has left a huge void in many areas of the state. I remember him for his bold and peaceful thinking to attract investments for the industrialization of the state."
The Merchants' Chamber of Commerce also expressed their sorrow, noting, "A seasoned public servant, his experience of over five decades as MLA, minister, and later chief minister has left a lasting legacy. Bhattacharjee's vision of industrialization was appreciated by all. The state saw investments in IT during his tenure as chief minister. His efforts for the rapid industrialization of West Bengal will be remembered."
