In response to the summons issued by the Central Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the infamous teacher appointment corruption case in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, made an appearance at the ED's office located in the CGO Complex, Salt Lake. Despite spending over an hour responding to the agency's questions, Abhishek voiced his dissatisfaction with the repeated summons, characterizing them as politically motivated and devoid of substance. While interacting with Taaza TV,  he said "Just because I always cooperate with ED, it does not mean that they can keep calling me without any reason. Today I have submitted thousands of pages of documents to the ED. Calling me again and again is full of politics."

It is worth noting that the line of questioning by the ED centered on the plethora of documents that Abhishek had previously submitted in relation to the teacher appointment corruption case, underscoring the continued scrutiny surrounding the high-profile investigation.

As per the order of Calcutta High Court, the central agency had sent him a notice and asked him to appear this morning.
