An alleged theft case surfaced in Salt Lake, West Bengal, as Mahendranath Sarkar reported the disappearance of three generators from his residence in EE-Block. Bidhannagar police initiated an investigation following Sarkar's complaint at Bidhannagar East police station on February 18. Utilizing CCTV footage from 37 locations around the complainant's residence, law enforcement identified a car fitted with a blue light and bearing a West Bengal government sticker, allegedly involved in the theft.
Subsequently, police apprehended two suspects in connection with the case. Tapan Roy, the driver of the identified car, was arrested from Basanti Devi Colony, Ultadanga, while interrogation led to the apprehension of another suspect, Bimal Byapari, from Duttpukur. The seized vehicle, equipped with blue lights and government insignia, has been impounded as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
