CBCF has given the green light to the much-anticipated movie "Maidaan," starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role, without any cuts. The film, which runs for over three hours, has also undergone a couple of additions.
CBFC has however, asked the team to add a disclaimer stating that "the film is a work of fiction inspired by true events available in the public domain, views of the legendary football players, and research of writers with fictional elements".
Additionally, the disclaimer must state that certain dialogues are used for dramatization purposes only and that the film does not advocate or encourage any unlawful behavior. Furthermore, the CBFC has directed the filmmakers to incorporate an anti-smoking message through ticker notifications during scenes featuring smoking characters.
Moreover, the board has mandated that the end credits of the film include Hindi translations alongside English. Clocking in at a runtime of 3 hours, 1 minute, and 30 seconds. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, "Maidaan" is a tale inspired by true events, chronicling the journey of Syed Abdul Rahim, portrayed by Ajay Devgn. It also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh in pivotal roles.
