The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the house of army personnel Mrinmoy Ghosh in Chatinda village, Kolaghat, East Midnapore, over alleged financial corruption. The operation, which began yesterday evening, continued until 1 AM. Simultaneously, a raid was conducted at his flat in Guwahati. According to family sources, CBI officials interrogated family members for nearly seven hours and seized several documents, including multiple government bank passbooks and LIC papers.
Ghosh is currently serving in the Indian Army in Assam. Sources claim he is under investigation for alleged financial irregularities while on duty. However, officials have not disclosed the exact amount involved. The seized documents are being examined to determine the scale of transactions. The agency is also assessing whether the financial activities extend beyond personal dealings. Officials have not confirmed if other military personnel are under investigation.
The CBI is expected to summon Ghosh for questioning. Further verification of documents and financial records will continue in the coming days. No official statement has been issued regarding possible arrests or additional raids.
