A team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) visited a property located at AG59, Salt Lake, Baisakhi, stirring curiosity and concern among locals. According to sources, the property is operated as a guest house by a businessman named Siddharth Nag.
An employee at the guest house revealed that Shantanu Bhattacharya, a man claiming to be a doctor, has been residing there for the past few months. Bhattacharya's activities reportedly became the focal point of the CBI’s visit.
"The officials asked specific questions about Shantanu Bhattacharya. He introduced himself as a doctor when he arrived, but the CBI's inquiries suggest deeper issues," said the employee.
As per reports, Bhattacharya was seen visiting RG Kar Hospital at various times before and after the rape and murder case. CBI's operation today is to find out if Dr. Shantanu Bhattacharya has any connection with the RG Kar rape and murder incident along with financial misconduct. CBI is questioning Shantanu Bhattacharya along with the staff of the guest house.
