A shocking case of abduction has emerged from Bihar’s Purnia district, where a 16-year-old girl was kidnapped in broad daylight while she was returning home from the market. The entire incident, which took place around 5:30 pm on Thursday, was caught on CCTV, exposing the brazenness of the crime.
According to the footage, two men on a bike waited ahead of the girl’s path. As she approached, one of them got down and attempted to grab her. The girl tried to escape, running towards the street, but the kidnappers chased her down, overpowered her, and forcefully made her sit between them on the bike before speeding away.
When the girl did not return home, her mother grew anxious and approached the police. A case of kidnapping was immediately registered, and authorities launched an investigation. Police officials have stated that they are working on leads to track down both the girl and the accused.
The kidnapping has triggered panic in the area, with locals demanding stronger law enforcement and safety measures. Many have questioned how such an incident could occur in broad daylight, despite police presence in the city.
This is not the first such crime in Bihar. Last November, a 14-year-old boy was abducted from Jamui district, where kidnappers not only took him from his house but also planted bombs inside to create fear among his family. The kidnappers later demanded a ransom.
Police officials in Purnia have assured that teams are actively working on the case, and every possible effort is being made to bring the girl back safely. More updates are awaited as the investigation progresses.
