Three persons were arrested in the Naldanga area of Hooghly district after CCTV footage captured them moving suspiciously near residential properties during nighttime hours. The incident took place two days ago in Kodalia 2 No. Gram Panchayat. The footage showed the accused individuals peeking through windows and loitering around multiple houses.
The visuals were recorded by cameras installed at a private residence. A local youth shared the video publicly, which prompted further attention. Residents had earlier reported multiple cases of theft and robbery in the area. Based on the footage, police from Chuchura station under Chandannagar Police Commissionerate initiated a probe to identify the persons involved.
Police officials confirmed that all three individuals seen in the CCTV footage were traced and arrested shortly after identification. The arrests were made after officers reviewed the footage and conducted ground verification. The accused were taken into custody and further legal proceedings have been initiated. Local residents have demanded stronger surveillance measures in the area.
