Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Tension gripped Dhupguri ahead of the upcoming elections after an unidentified individual was caught on CCTV allegedly removing and tearing party flags of the Trinamool Congress and Left parties under the cover of darkness. The incident took place in Ward No. 11 of Dhupguri Municipality, where political activity has intensified in the run-up to polling.
According to local inputs, party flags had been put up across the area as part of election preparations. Late on Wednesday night, a person reportedly entered the locality and began removing Trinamool Congress flags, tearing them and throwing them onto the road. Similar allegations have also emerged regarding the removal of red flags belonging to Left parties, raising concerns over coordinated attempts to disturb the local political atmosphere.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras, following which police from Dhupguri Police Station reached the spot and began an inquiry. Local Trinamool leader Debdulal Ghosh said the matter has been reported to the administration and the Election Commission, alleging that the act was a deliberate attempt to create unrest ahead of the elections. The simultaneous targeting of flags belonging to multiple parties has further intensified suspicion in the area.
