Central paramilitary forces were deployed at Swasthya Bhavan in Salt Lake on Wednesday morning, expanding heightened security arrangements after similar deployment at Nabanna. Security personnel were stationed across the Swasthya Bhavan premises, from the main entrance to the Institute of Health Services building. Strict surveillance and screening measures were introduced for all individuals entering and exiting the administrative complex.
According to sources, even West Bengal Health Secretary Narayan Swaroop Nigam was stopped by central force personnel during entry procedures and his bag was searched as part of the security protocol. Jawans deployed at the main entrance maintained detailed records of all movement within the premises, including visitors, employees and officials entering the building.
Security personnel also conducted thorough checks of bags and belongings carried by individuals entering the premises. Sources stated that if any person was carrying official documents or files, details including file numbers were being recorded by the deployed personnel as part of the intensified security measures currently in place at the health department headquarters.
