Centre unveils six new bills for parliament session, including major aviation reform

The Central Government has scheduled six new bills for introduction in the upcoming Parliament session, starting July 22 and concluding on August 12. Among the key proposals is the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, 2024, which aims to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act of 1934 to facilitate ease of doing business in the aviation sector. The session will also see the introduction of the Finance Bill and 'The Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill,' which seeks to enhance clarity and coordination among disaster management agencies, according to a Lok Sabha bulletin.

Additional bills on the agenda include the Boilers Bill to update pre-Independence legislation and the Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill and Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill to boost their respective industries. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on July 23. The Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, has constituted a Business Advisory Committee to oversee the parliamentary proceedings, comprising members from various political parties.
