Chaos erupted outside a restaurant in Hyderabad's Malakpet area as crowds surged to avail themselves of free haleem offered by the establishment on the first day of Ramadan. The decision by the restaurant's management to distribute complimentary haleem led to an overwhelming influx of people, prompting the Hyderabad Police to intervene and disperse the crowd using lathi-charge. Haleem, a popular Ramadan delicacy, is a savory stew crafted from a mix of lentils, meat, wheat, and aromatic spices.
Footage depicted a sizable gathering outside the restaurant named 'Aazebo,' with hundreds of individuals flocking to partake in the free haleem offer. Malakpet inspector U Srinivas stated that a case will be filed against the restaurant's management for impeding traffic movement without prior notification or permission. The incident underscores the challenges faced by authorities in managing large crowds during festive occasions and highlights the need for better crowd control measures.
