Mamata Banerjee has canceled her planned three-day trip to Darjeeling.
The cancellation comes at a time when some hill leaders are attempting to form new political alliances.
During the visit, Mamata was scheduled to unveil statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, and C.R. Das near Raj Bhavan. She had also planned to meet with industrialists at Gorkha Bhawan.
Mamata's last visit to Darjeeling was in July 2022, during which Anit Thapa was sworn in as the chief executive of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration.
Trinamooll had performed well in the region, with five of its candidates winning seats in the 45-member GTA Sabha.
