Renowned television actor Dinesh Phadnis, best known for his role as Fredericks in the long-running TV series CID, passed away at the age of 57 in Mumbai. According to his co-star Aditya Srivastava, Phadnis had been admitted to Tunga Hospital in suburban Mumbai a few days ago and succumbed to health complications, primarily related to liver issues, on Monday night.
The actor's last rites were conducted in Borivali East on Tuesday morning, with the news confirmed by film and television body CINTAA (Cine And TV Artistes' Association) on social media. In addition to his significant role in CID, Dinesh Phadnis made brief appearances in notable films like Sarfarosh and Mela, both starring Aamir Khan, and Officer in 2001.
His versatile career also included cameo roles in various TV shows, such as CID: Special Bureau, Adaalat, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, and CIF. The actor, who also contributed as a writer for a Marathi film, had recently featured in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30.
