CID officers visited the West Bengal Legislative Assembly on Monday afternoon as part of their investigation into the alleged signature forgery case. The visit came after the agency questioned Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee in two separate rounds and conducted a face-to-face interrogation involving Abhishek Banerjee and Kunal Ghosh. Investigators reportedly arrived at the Assembly at around 1:45 p.m. to collect documents and information considered important to the ongoing probe.
According to preliminary information, the CID sought records related to the resolution copy submitted to the Speaker's Secretariat, which is being treated as a key piece of evidence in the case. The agency is examining official Assembly documents and related records to verify the authenticity of signatures and determine how the disputed resolution was processed. Several MLAs have also been questioned as part of the investigation, while investigators continue to scrutinize records connected to the alleged forgery.
