A CISF jawan, identified as Sunil Kumar Paswan, was shot dead on the night of Wednesday, in the Domdaha village of Asansol, West Bengal. Paswan, a resident of Mihijam in Jharkhand, had recently purchased land in the Salanpur area and was overseeing the construction of his house at the time of the incident. According to sources, he was shot in the head by unidentified assailants while inspecting the site. The attack occurred late in the night, and despite the loud gunshots, by the time neighbors arrived, the attackers had already fled.
Following the shooting, Paswan was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critically injured state, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The police, who were promptly informed of the incident, arrived at the scene and recovered multiple bottles of alcohol, suggesting possible involvement of local individuals. The police have not yet disclosed any specific details about the suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
The local authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the murder, although no arrests have been made so far. The family of the deceased jawan has expressed their grief over the loss, while also demanding swift justice for the crime. The police continue to gather evidence from the site and surrounding areas as they work towards identifying the attackers.
