In response to heightened national security concerns, civil defense mock drills were conducted today across several schools in Kolkata. The drills, organized by the Sealdah Division’s Civil Defense Department, aimed to prepare students and staff for potential emergency situations, including wartime scenarios. The drills included training on evacuation procedures, basic first aid, and safety protocols in case of terrorist attacks or other emergencies. The Sealdah DRM Sports Ground hosted one of the main awareness campaigns, where key officials, including the DRM, were present to ensure smooth execution.
Among the participating schools were prominent institutions such as Future Foundation, La Martiniere for Boys and Girls, Loreto, and DPS Ruby Park. These drills were designed to enhance awareness and ensure that students and staff are equipped to handle crisis situations effectively. The initiative reflects the government's ongoing effort to improve public safety and readiness, with drills taking place across the city to ensure widespread preparedness in case of national emergencies.
