Snowfall in Sikkim, tourists flock to witness winter wonderland
In a shocking incident in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, a school principal was shot dead inside the school premises on Friday. The victim, 55-year-old Surendra Kumar Saxena, headmaster of the Dhamora Government Higher Secondary School, was found lying in a pool of blood in the bathroom.
The incident unfolded during school hours when a Class 12 student allegedly followed the principal into the bathroom and shot him in the head. The sound of the gunshot sent panic through the school, with staff rushing to investigate. They discovered Mr. Saxena’s lifeless body and immediately alerted authorities.
According to Superintendent of Police Agam Jain, the accused, accompanied by another student, fled the scene on the principal's two-wheeler. CCTV footage captured the duo escaping. Both students, residents of Dhilapur village, reportedly have a history of indiscipline.
Mr. Saxena's family has alleged that the murder was premeditated. His brother, Rajendra Saxena, claimed the principal faced undue pressure and harassment at the school. "This appears to be part of a planned conspiracy," he stated, demanding a thorough investigation.
The police have launched a manhunt for the absconding students and deployed forensic teams to the crime scene. Authorities are also probing possible motives, including disciplinary actions taken by the principal against the students.
This tragic incident has raised concerns about safety in educational institutions and the growing issue of student indiscipline. The school remains closed as the investigation continues.
