Kolkata Airport makes history by welcoming first Giant Airbus Beluga XL
As the Income Tax department's search of the BBC offices continued for a second day, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra launched a scathing attack on the BJP, saying: "The closest anyone in the BJP has ever fought the British."
Officials from the I-T department arrived at the BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai around 11:00 am on Tuesday to conduct an "exploratory operation". All employee electronic devices were taken into their custody and cell phones were searched. During the investigation, officials searched the shell company's employee systems for income taxes and fund transfers.
Mahua Moitra has been criticising the search at the BBC offices. On Tuesday, she reacted to the news of the survey operations and tweeted, "Wow, really? How unexpected. Meanwhile farsaan seva for Adani when he drops in for a chat with Chairman @SEBI_India office."
She also asked if the survey at the BBC offices would be followed by one on "Mr A". Her remark was a veiled jibe at Adani Group chief Gautam Adani. "Since agencies doing these Valentine Day “Surveys” how about @IncomeTaxIndia, @SEBI_India & @dir_ed conduct one on govt’s most valued sweetheart Mr. A?", she tweeted.
