CM Hemant Soren announces power plant and welfare initiatives at JMM rally in Jharkhand

on Monday, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) held a rally at the Gosaibagh ground in Banshidhar Nagar, Garhwa district, to mark the nomination of Anant Pratap Dev as their candidate for the upcoming elections. Chief Minister Hemant Soren was a prominent presence at the rally, where he articulated his government’s development agenda and welfare initiatives. He emphasized that this event was significant as it marked his first election rally in Banshidhar Nagar, underscoring his commitment to the region.

During his address, Soren announced ambitious plans for a power plant in Bhawanathpur, reiterating his government’s vision for energy independence and development. He had previously laid the foundation stone for this power plant during his first term but faced setbacks due to adverse conditions. Soren expressed his determination to see the project through this time, highlighting the need for infrastructure development to meet the growing energy demands of the state.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the success of the Maiya Samman Yojana, a flagship welfare initiative that aims to empower households in Jharkhand. Currently benefiting every household, the scheme is set to increase its financial assistance to ₹2,500 by December. Looking ahead, Soren announced that his government plans to provide an annual grant of ₹1 lakh to every woman under this program, a move intended to enhance women's financial independence and overall welfare.

In a pointed critique of the opposition, Soren accused the BJP of exploiting their time in power to mislead the public and disrupt governance. He emphasized that their greed for power had caused significant distress to the people of Jharkhand, particularly during the BJP's five-year hiatus from government. He reassured the audience that the JMM would combat these challenges and continue to prioritize the needs of the citizens. The rally attracted significant attention, with numerous party leaders and local officials in attendance, including former MLA Raj Rajendra Pratap Dev and JMM sub-division president Mukteshwar Pandey.
