West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, currently on a tour of Spain to promote industrial development in her state, took time to meet with the Bengali community residing in Spain. During her visit, she held extensive discussions on a wide range of topics, including sports, education, industry, and social development.
On Friday, after engaging with the Spanish business community, CM Mamata Banerjee had a heartwarming encounter with Bengali expatriates living in Spain. The meeting took place at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz Hotel in Madrid at 3:30 pm local time. Among those fortunate to meet the Chief Minister were Anirban Ghosh and Devadrati Ghosh, a Bengali couple residing in Madrid.
Anirban Ghosh, who has been living and working in Madrid for approximately a year and a half, expressed his delight at the unexpected opportunity to meet the leader of their home state. An employee of a multinational IT company, Anirban was joined by his wife Devadrati on the trip. Although they were aware of the Chief Minister's visit to Spain, they did not anticipate the chance to meet her.
During their interaction, Anirban shared that meeting the Chief Minister on foreign soil was a momentous and cherished experience. The conversation included a friendly inquiry from Mamata Banerjee about their plans to return to Kolkata.
