Reacting to his party leader Gulam Rasool Balyawai's demand for 30 percent reservation for Muslims in the army, Janata Dal United (JDU) chief and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said many people have a habit of talking a lot.
"A lot of people have a habit of saying many things. When I meet him, I ask him what he said and why," said Nitish Kumar. This comes after the JDU distanced itself from Gulam Rasool Balyawai's comments. The party argued that no controversy should be raised involving the military.
Addressing an event organized by Idara-E-Shariya in Nawada, Balywai said that if the central government is afraid of dealing with terrorists from Pakistan, it should recruit 30 percent Muslims in the Indian Army.
Reacting to the JDU leader's remarks, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nikhil Anand said that what Gulam Rasool Balyawi said was "an insult to Sanatan dharma, religious leaders and the army".
