CM Suvendu Adhikari to address Sebaashray allegations in Assembly after BJP raises treatment complaints

Allegations related to the Sebaashray health camps were raised in the West Bengal Assembly on Friday, with BJP MLA Debangshu Panda demanding a statement from Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. During the discussion, Panda alleged that irregularities had taken place during the camps, including complaints that some patients had allegedly lost limbs during treatment. He also referred to allegations of land occupation and the burial of medicines, and sought the Chief Minister's response on the matter.

Speaking in the Assembly, Debangshu Panda alleged that a ground in Falta had been occupied for a Sevashray camp, preventing children from using the playground. He further claimed that the government would spend ₹24 lakh to dismantle the temporary structure erected at the site and alleged that the camp had been retained for political purposes after the Assembly election results. Panda urged the government to clarify its position on the allegations.

Responding to the issue, Council Minister Shankar Ghosh said the government had received several complaints regarding the matter, including allegations related to medical treatment, and announced that Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari would make a statement in the Assembly on Saturday. Trinamool Congress MLA Kunal Ghosh alleged that MP Abhishek Banerjee was being deliberately targeted and said he should be invited to the Assembly to present his response if required.
