Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy advocates "One Nation, One Election" in Kolkata to save costs

At the Annual General Meeting of the Bharat Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy strongly advocated for the implementation of the "One Nation, One Election" concept. He explained that synchronizing national and state elections would not only streamline the electoral process but also result in significant savings for the country. "If implemented, this initiative will benefit all states and conserve national resources," Reddy stated.

The minister further highlighted the potential benefits, emphasizing that the proposal could reduce the repeated costs of holding separate elections at different times for various states and the central government. By aligning the electoral timelines, Reddy suggested that the country would avoid the financial burden and administrative strain of conducting elections at different intervals, which also disrupts governance and development processes.

Reddy called on all states to support the initiative, urging that "it is essential for all state governments to back this move for the greater good of the nation." He concluded by underscoring the importance of a united approach to implement this reform, noting that it would lead to better governance, cost savings, and improved efficiency in India's political landscape.
