A cold day alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department for 29 districts in Uttar Pradesh, impacting air and rail travel. The dense fog on Friday morning led to disruptions, with 17 flights canceled on Thursday and several more affected on Friday.
IndiGo, Air India, and other carriers reported cancellations and delays, including flights from Amausi to Delhi and Lucknow, and vice versa. Trains, including the Shatabdi Express, faced significant delays, with the Meteorological Department suggesting possible improvements in weather conditions from the following day.
The cold alert, covering districts such as Bahraich, Agra, Bareilly, and others, has intensified the impact of fog on transportation. Flights from various cities to Lucknow, including Patna, Bengaluru, and Delhi, remained canceled, affecting passengers.
Train services, including the Lucknow Mail and Shatabdi Express, experienced delays ranging from a few hours to nearly nine hours, disrupting the regular schedule and causing inconvenience to commuters.
